In 1954, being 47 years old Anne Desclos (born on September 23, 1907) in Rochefort-sur-Mer, and died on April 30, 1998 in Corbeil-Essonnes (Essonne, Île-de-France, ), in order to recover the man whom it loved, Jean Paulhan, director of Nouvelle Revue Française (NRF), 20 years older than her, who worked with and maintained a clandestine loving relationship (He was married) which was starting to break, going in a serious crisis by the difficulties of the relation, in a desperate act, and to avoid the definitive rupture of this relation, inside the solitude of her room, lying on her bed, with a black pencil and a few leaves, was arranged to write to his love her most beautiful love letter.
“I am also able to write those stories you like so much” and then wrote the first chapter of story of O.
On the following day, she put her manuscript in one envelope, and put it in the post office box they used both to leave notes and to communicate without raising suspicions.
When Jean Paulhan read the letter sent by Anne, almost fell on his back. He went to meet her and took her in his car to one remote place ¿May be Roisy, silent witness of their clandestine meeting? And there inside the car and more in love than ever, made Anne read him aloud what she had written.
Since that days and in the same way Scherezade made on the novel the thousand and one night, in days gone by, for keeping safe her life, Anne wrote lying on his bed for her sultan, and not Schahriar, but Jean Paulhan, and not for keeping safe her life, but for keeping safe their relationship, with her black pencil, something more of her Story of O.
Like everyday, she put in one envelope what she had written the night before and put it in the post office box, where it gathered Jean Paulhan precise. And
Precise he was going to look for it, he took it site to a retired, and
He made him read to him aloud, the writing the previous night, where he got it promptly. And promptly he met her and took her to one remote place and made her to read him aloud what she had written the night before.
Anne saved her relationship in the same way Scherezade saved her life.
When the novel was finished, Jean ask for her agreement to publish it.
Anne Desclos was a famous writer in France, but published with one pseudonymous Dominique Aury.
Anne asked to Jean for her name or pseudonymous by which all France knew her didn’t appear, fundamentally because of her parents, they never could understand it and accept it. And thus the other pseudonymous of Anne Desclos was born: Pauline Réage.
Jean Paulhan gave to the manuscript to the young French publisher Jean-Jacques Pauvert, who had already opened 17 processes for publishing “no recommendable books”, among them the works of Sade.
When Pauvert read the manuscript became ecstatic, and told Paulhan “This is the book of my life”.
Anne Desclos-Dominique Aury-Pauline Réage didn’t write The Story of O for being published, it was a love letter, a very long letter but to be read by only one people, her lover: Jean Paulhan.
She couldn’t imagine the success her novel got; she also didn’t look for it.
Years later, because of the pressure exerted by the publishers and the public in general, Anne Desclos was forced to write the second part of Story of O. Jean Paulhan had died, and for Anne, nothing of this had sense. Return to Roissy, written as a commercial book, is written to get out of trouble. She wrote on its prologue:
The following pages are continuation of the Story of O. On them the degradation sets out deliberately and, therefore, they never could have been integrated to the novel.
The motor that moved to Anne to write Story of Or, that is to say, the love, that is to say, Jean Paulhan no longer existed. She herself said "Nothing changes to the leopard her spots, to me nothing will change my contradictions, then leave me to disappear."
Anne did not want to know nothing else of O. O had died with Paulhan. Therefore, the result of the book that was forced to write for commercial reasons, "Return to Roissy" absolutely does not have anything to do with Story of O. Here the cloister consecrated to the transfiguration of the love is discovered to us here like a trivial brothel of luxury. Its people are not more than vulgar whores. Sir Stephen, "the fascinating prince of gray eyes", a delinquent, a swindler.
Story of O is the symbol of the BDSM. There are many books with beautiful stories of love. There are many books that masters and slaves treat on. But the difference between story of O and all of them, is on here are narrated the erotic fantasies of a series of people, who have been able to assume them and to live them without for that reason feeling like "rare tiny beasts".
It is a game between adults who allow it. It is a way of life, accepted, allowed, wished. As Dominique Aury says in one of her interviews, collections in the news article that made Art on Pauline Reage, and which you will find complete in these pages (in English French and): "At heart, O is the one who handles to René, to Sir Stephen, Roissy, she handles them to satisfy his desires, to make his dreams "
It is the eternal discussion that we find in all forums BDSM. Who directs the game? The master or the submissive one? And to the lovers and people who practice BDSM and their associate fantasies (spanking, bondage, violation, and all fantasy related to the domination and the submission), although our fantasies are different, although we like the game, more hard smoother, with more rebelliousness (spanking), although our preferences changed the rolls and the dominant be the women and submissive the men. Story of O, represents, without doubt, the culmination of our erotic fantasies, precisely to be based on a story of a game between adults and who agree.
For that reason, Azotainas Eroticas wants to pay tribute to this emblem, to this story which is our registered and owing to that we have made that special.
Here you will be able to find the book of Story of O in Spanish, French, English, German and Portuguese. You will also be able to find comics and drawings, done by well-known sketchers BDSM diverse on the subject. You will also find the photos of the film of Just Jaeckin, carried out by Corinne Clery, Udo Kier and Anthony Steel the film is enough faithful to the work of Dominique Aury, nevertheless, as it always happens with the films based on books, is short.
Just Jaeckin makes a story of love. And, in fact, Story of O is it. It is a true story of love. Nevertheless, the film is more sweetened than the novel. The book is denser, harder. More impressive. One of best books than I have read.
I recommend to all the reading of the book in the first place (It is very short and is read very fast), and after it watch the film. Here you will be able to find the almost whole film in three languages: Spanish, French and English. It is not whole film, but there is almost 1 hour of film with the most important scenes. Watch clips in the order that they were published, you will have watched the whole film more or less. Missed part is not relevant. You will also find here animations and gifs, created from the film. You will also find one television sereie made in 1992, which was projected on German television. It is a Spanish serie, with Spanish actors, but it was never projected on the Spanish television. The language of the series is English. It is developed with 5 chapters of about one hour of duration. I’m sorry the quality of clips is not very good. Who compressed them for they occupied less megabytes, did it too, so the quality was lost. Nevertheless, the series is very good, and is another vision perhaps more complete than the one of Just Jaeckin, on the novel of Pauline Réage "Story of O".
