Comedy, 92 min, b/w
Proud father Stanley Banks remembers the day his daughter, Kay, got married. Starting when she announces her engagement through to the wedding itself, we learn of all the surprises and disasters along the way
In the case of Spencer Tracy (not) spanking Elizabeth Taylor in "Father of the Bride," however, there was perhaps another reason. This was just after Liz had divorced her first husband, Nicky Hilton. Today we take it for granted that Liz Taylor never stays married, but back then it was a scandal. And people were writing in to the fan magazines urging that she be spanked.
