Gloria, La Negra, arrives to the US with her friend Marta, and is welcomed by her spinster sister, Aurora. To cheer up the very shy couple of Aurora and her lawyer, Alfonso, who has been courting her for a very long time, Gloria takes them to a cabaret, where singer, songwriter and orchestra conductor, Ramon, is performing. He tries to court her, but she pretends no to be interested and flirts with Alfonso to make Aurora jealous, and push the couple to the next step. Alfonso tells Aurora that he loves her, but they sacrifice their love, for Gloria. Gloria exchanges the pills with which Aurora tries to kill herself, and asks Ramon for help. Alfonso also tries to kill himself with Aurora. Thanks to a magician, that poses as a doctor, Aurora and Alfonso are saved and promise to get married with one condition: Gloria has to get married also. Gloria offers Ramon money to pretend to be her husband. They all go to a ranch that belongs to the sisters. The couple that takes care of the ranch, suspect something is going on, when they see people get in and out of their rooms to different guest rooms and they tell Aurora and Alfonso about it.
